My friend Nancy and I spend the afternoon visiting at Downtown Disney.

For the Beauty of the Earth

For the beauty of the earth,
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies:

For the wonder of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale, and tree and flow'r,
Sun and moon, and stars of light:

For the joy of human love
Brother, sister, parent, child.
Friends on earth, and friends above,
For all thoughts and mild"
Dot, beloved sister-in-law

Mary Sue, beloved childhood & high school friend
Christ our God, to thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise. Amen
The world is looking pretty good this time of year. My plants are blooming and the sky is blue. Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
And so are my friends that have been able to visit lately. My very best friend in the world, Mary Sue (we forged a friendship in 4th grade) was able to visit in April. We hadn't seen each other in 15 years. We spent a great afternoon catching up.
One of my favorite sister-in-laws was able to visit in Feb. It would be great if she just moved down here so we could pal around about 5-6 days a week.
And my friend, Nancy, came to Orlando with her daughter, a friend of my daughter. They both had their children who bonded quickly. A great afternoon remembering my other life in Nashville. We remembered old church friends and the many fun summers at the swim club. She is a widow too, so we had lots in common. I sent her photo in cyberspace. I add it in another entry.
Old friends are such a blessing. I so enjoyed each of them and look forward to seeing them again soon.

Tea on Wheels

Aurora and Miss Wanda

The Simmons Loop WMU Ladies were on the prowl to find some projects that would be a blessing to someone else. When Martha S. had surgery on her foot, she was an instant target.

It all started with Ann L. and her teacups and teapots--collected by the score--and so beautiful. We finally settled on a day and greeted Martha with a tea party--a surprise.

We were blessed and think she was too.

Teas are now in our blood. The ladies enjoy dressing up. The tea is refreshing and the food delicious. The company is great. So, if you need a bit of cheering up, alert one of the WMU ladies. We'll do our best.

Ann has her teabags (that is tea baskets with cups and pots) packed.

Mickey D's House

$10 and a chore. That is what it takes to stay in the Ronald McDonald House if you have an ill child. It is lovely. Neat and clean and oh, so very nice. The staff at the Ronald McDonald house is so kind and supportive to families in crisis. A great charity to be involved with.

Mums, Glennise, and Ann took me and BubbaLou to the Ronald McDonald House when they went for a tour and to drop off some food. It was very eye opening. We found that all sorts of people and businesses like to support the Ronald McDonald House. They come to cook meals during the week, they provide books and all sorts of supplies that a family may need when their wee one is in the hospital. They also had some gut-wrenching stories that past residents had journaled in books in rooms and common areas.

We saw pictures of precious babes and children hanging on bulletin boards and in the books. We saw, we felt, we were thankful for the Ronald McDonald house and those people who choose to support it. Don't forget to drop your change in the collection banks at McDonald's the next time you go-it is for a fabulous cause!
Then of course, we had to do lunch at Mimi's cafe-not McDonalds!

Act 10:4
He stared at the angel in fear and said, "What is it, sir?" The angel answered, "God is pleased with your prayers and works of charity, and is ready to answer you.

A tea for mothers and daughters!

It isn't every day you get to take photos of lots of precious girls and their own mums having tea. How precious they are as they drink tea and eat crumpet like goodies-all in the name of our fabulous LORD God! I can only imagine that Jesus loves to watch his girls have tea! How awesome he is to have brought us all together and to call upon his name together.

He gave us such a great Mother's Day present. He allowed us to listen to words of wisdom, to hear beautiful voices lifted up to him, and to listen to a talented harpist play. Top it off with tea, sweets, and door prizes, what else could you ask for?

Check out the fun I had with the pics below, more to come-but in color.

Happy Mother's Day!
1John 3:18
My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.
